Our Mission

Our Mission

At Paws of Hope, we are dedicated to ending the dog meat trade across Asia and Africa, where each year, millions of dogs are captured, sold, and slaughtered for consumption. This heartbreaking trade devastates lives, affecting countless animals who deserve protection and compassion, not suffering and fear.

Why We Fight

At Paws of Hope, we believe dogs are not just animals; they’re companions, protectors, and family members. Our mission is to stand up for these vulnerable animals, rescue those we can, and educate communities to shift perspectives from seeing dogs as food to recognizing them as loyal, loving beings who deserve a chance at life.

The Story

In regions of Asia and parts of Africa, the dog meat trade is often connected to long-standing cultural beliefs, customs, and economic needs. Despite growing awareness and resistance, the demand for dog meat continues, driven by traditions and persistent myths about the health benefits of consuming it

Behind this trade lies a cycle of suffering. Countless dogs, including many stolen from homes, are transported over long distances in cramped, inhumane conditions. They endure days without food, water, or proper care, arriving weak and terrified. Tragically, their journey often ends in slaughterhouses or street markets, where they’re treated as commodities rather than as living beings with emotions and the capacity to love.

How We’re Making Change Happen

We know we can help end the suffering, but it takes collective action,
dedication, and compassion. Here’s how we’re working to bring about real, lasting change:
